The anaesthetists

The anaesthetists Dr Jedeikin works with are all highly qualified and experienced both locally and internationally.

Dr. Lance Thompson
Dr. Lance Thompson

Dr. Thompson got his medical degree in 1995 at the University of Cape Town. He did his internship at Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg and went on to get diplomas in Child Health and Anaesthetics. After working in Paediatric and Anaesthetics Departments in Jersey in the Channel Islands he came back to South Africa and did his anaesthetic registrar training. After that, in 2006 to 2007 he went to Sydney, Australia for a Paediatric Anaesthetic Fellowship. Another spell of working in the U.K afforded him valuable experience in anaesthetic practice. Being proudly South African, he returned here and set up a private practice. Dr Thompson regularly works at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. He works extensively in anaesthesia for aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, and also does paediatric and regional anaesthesia. When he’s not in a hospital, you can find him enjoying time with his family, surfing, running or hiking. He’s also a self-declared foodie and loves sampling Cape Town’s gastronomic delights.

Since then he has stayed in Cape Town and contributed years of valuable work. Ask him what he loves and he’ll say, “chocolates from Belgium, my job and classical music. The order is random. The chocolates do score high though.”
